Hear Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. speak about boycotting white businesses and buying Black. This is a rarely heard part of his famous "I've Been To The Mountaintop" speech that was delivered in Memphis, Tenessee on April 3, 1968, the day before he was assassinated.

Great speech
I feel special to have been around when Dr. King was alive. In this speech, he encourages us to do at that time what we continue to discuss and work on doing today to have financial gains. We have established credit unions and banks; unfortunately, we continue to lack the ability to work together, allowing our communities to become financially solid. We must learn to support each other, work together, and trust each other. We cannot be the weakest link if we are to grow financially strong. It's not about being angry with the other group. Let's examine ourselves first.
Dr. King was a great visionary! He had already seen what was needed for our economic change afar off by buying Black. He encouraged us to become economically empowered by refusing to purchase goods or services from without our race. In addition, he also had forseen that this would change the economics within our communities too. Thank you Dr. King for your guidance on how to bring economic change for Black people then and now!
Money talks
So true the same things he were saying back in the 60's are in need today we must stop begging the white man and build our own nation there is so much power in this, we must wake the sleeping black man and woman up at all cost!

Boycott in unity and be purposeful about it. Build banks and deposit our money in them, for the community to prosper, let us be about the people's business, let us serve the people. Get insurance from Black owned insurance company. Brother Martin was on some economic empowerment movement.
America's hatred killed our brother the next day.
Dr. Martin Luther King gave a revolutionary speech that day! He inspired us to truly support our institutions and each other as Brothers and Sisters! That wise counsel was great then, it’s good now and FOREVER, if we want to live as a free and thriving race!
We are going up together here at Garvey Nation. We are building an economic base whereby we will create from this base our own banks. Our own schools. Our own hospitals. Our own stores. Our own neighborhoods. Our own.....You fill in the blank. We must create our own. It starts with having an Economic base. Thankful and Grateful for Garvey Nation.
I think it's a. Crying shame that our strong talking black leaders are gone now , but they taught us. What had to done to survive in this wicked world we are trying to live in with.some peace.
A Powerful Speech in 1968 this was Dr.King Dream and Today we as Negroes was asked to stop giving our Business to other races same as Building the Nation we are moving forward to get our people involved so we will have our own 🫶🏽
