I was always taught by my Great Grandmother that I was blessed to be Black for many reasons, and one thing she taught me was that people try to talk about you because they are insecure about themselves.
What an awesome message. Do not let anyone degrade you or your color. Be who you are. Be Black and Proud.
I have always fostered much respect for Dr. King and His family!!! He had a much eloquent way of speaking, so that every man women and child could understand and appreciate his humility!!!

Dr. King made it very clear that we must be the architects of our own liberation! We are to let no one take away our manhood or womanhood! We must all say it loud, “I'm Black and I’m proud.”
No one can do this for us. We must do this for ourselves. We are not children. "Don't let anything take your manhood." If we are to be a liberated race, we must do this ourselves. "I'm Black and I'm Proud."
Do for self
The enter resources of our own soul and sign with a pen our own proclamation”
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was powerful. I remember watching and listening to him as child. His speech were always powerful and awesome.
GarveyNation is the place where we do everything on our own..Only we can do this for us, no piece of paper...GarveyNation...
Saying it "Loud, I'm Proud"
We gotta do for our selves
"When you go to the cinema and you see the glorification of others in the pictures, don't accept it... organize your propaganda to that effect.... show your own motion pictures."
YES! I'm Black I'm Proud of it. I'm BLACK AND BEAUTIFUL!...~M.L.K. Jr.
"I come here tonight and plead with you, believe in yourself and believe that you're somebody. As I said to a group last night, nobody else can do this for us no document can do this for us. No Lincolnian emancipation proclamation can do this for us. No kennedisonian of Johnsonian civil rights bill can do this for us. If the negro is to be free, he must move down into the inner resources of his own soul and sign with a pen and ink of self-assertive manhood his own emancipation proclamation.
Don't let anybody take your manhood. Be proud of our heritage. As somebody said earlier tonight, we don't have anything to be ashamed of. Somebody told a lie one day. They couched it in language. they made everything Black ugly and evil look in your dictionary and see the synonyms of the word Black. It's always something degrading, low and sinister. Look at the word white. It's always something pure, high, clean. Well, I want to get the language right tonight., I want to get the language so right that everybody here will cry out, YES! I'm Black I'm Proud of it. I'm BLACK AND BEAUTIFUL!"
