African Black Soap is one of the world’s oldest soaps, invented by the Yoruba people of Nigeria, West Africa. They use a centuries-old tradition of blending plant materials into a natural product, and it cleans beautifully without chemical detergents. We’ve infused this pure black soap with cocoa butter, essential oils and wonderful aromas to enhance the bathing experience. 

African Black Soap is all natural and nutrient rich. Because it is made from plants, it is very gentle on skin. African Black Soap has been widely reported to *help reduce skin problems.

Cocoa Butter comes from the cacao tree, the same tree which gives us cocoa beans for chocolate. Cocoa butter contains polyphenols, a group of plant compounds which act as antioxidants. These polyphenols have been shown to *exhibit a positive effect on skin elasticity and firmness.

Essential Oils have been used since ancient times for medicinal purposes, and for good reason. Modern research has shown that essential oils are *anticancer, anti-inflammatory and anti-viral agents. According to a study, *essential oils have shown promising antimicrobial activity against skin-associated pathogens. And they also smell wonderful!

AFRICAN MUSK: A deep and woodsy scent with notes of frankincense, musk, and sandalwood. Infused with hyssop essential oil. 

LEMONGRASS: A bright and tangy scent with notes of lemon, fresh grass and rosemary. Infused with hyssop essential oil. 

PEPPERMINT: A beautifully fresh medley of peppermint, spearmint and eucalyptus aromas. Infused with peppermint and hyssop essential oils. 

Our Scented Black Soaps are moulded into oval shapes for easier use during bathing. They are also great for washing the face because they are very gentle on the skin. Use in conjunction with your favorite lotion or body oil!

For storage, place on a perforated soap dish and allow to dry between uses.
