Throughout the ages, Black men of renown (especially pharaohs) have worn Agate as a symbol of their power.
Agate is a stone found near the Nile River, in modern-day Sudan. This region was known as Nubia in ancient times.
Scientists discovered a Nubian statue of the deity Ptah, God of Stability, carved from agate stone. It’s currently on display at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
Agate was also used in ancient Egypt to make amulets, which were believed to bring strength and protection to the wearer.
Agate is also associated with improved concentration and decreased stress.
